problems upgrading from 12.04
I have three dual boot systems. This question pertains to an HP Mini-311-1037NR "netbook" system running an Atom processor with a virtual 2nd core. 2gig of RAM. Plenty of free HD space. Win7 is the other installed system.
I tried to upgrade from 12.04 and was presented with 12.10, which after a long time hit a "panic" stage and locked up.
I tried again and was presented with 13.04, which processed a long time then hit the "panic" stage and locked up.
In both cases, I'm not talking about a short delay. I'm talking totally non-responsive for a LONG time.
Rebooted into Ubuntu. Login screen says it's running 12.04, while system info after booting says it's 13.04...... BUT says I can't install, update, or anything.
Also won't allow a "Partial update" from 13.04 to 12.04. ??
should I delete the partition and start over? If so, what is the best / safest procedure? don't want to have to rebuild win7 in the process, as that is truly a pain.
Thanks in advance, Trent Hall
